I'm very happy that you've collaborated with SSC. They deserve for their entire story to be told and their image needs to be held up in high regard. It takes a lot to start a company like SSC.
@@robcarey2411 Read some of the press release SSC issued at that time, they claimed the GPS company, Dewetron, verified their data but in reality Dewetron did nothing and issued a press release of their own distancing themselves from SSC.

They absolutely faked the record, that's the reason they've never been able to get anywhere near the same numbers again. It's pretty simple to demonstrate it's false when all the numbers available are public: tire diameter, lane stripe length and spacing, gear ratios, RPM. It doesn't require any sort of crazy math to calculate the actual speed, and they forgot about that simple fact.
Much respect to Shmee for coming to tour SSC's factory and make peace with the whole top speed debacle, and big credit to Jerod for trying to do right by the whole situation. For those who don't know, Jerod went through a lot of personal and professional grief to get to Tuatara. He spent a decade dealing with legal battles over the rights to a land parcel for his factory, further legal issues trying to get funding for the project, and right when he got past all of it, having given up on the factory site he'd tried so hard for, his first wife passed away. Then he finally got his car out there and started working at records, and the mistakes were made that led to the top speed record controversy and humiliation. Suffice to say, dude has been through a lot. Mind you, he never talks about these struggles because he seems like a pretty humble guy; I only know of them because I spent that entire decade searching him and his car up periodically, trying to see if Tuatara was actually happening, and only found things like his wife's obituary. Yet, here the car is. I wish him much success with this beautiful machine. Here's hoping things look up for Mr. Shelby and his company.

So much respect for amazing companies like SSC, Hennessy and Zenvo who aren’t as big or perhaps don’t have the same cache as some of the other hypercar manufacturers but still strive to compete at unfathomable levels of bespoke build quality and performance. Bravo SSC.

Yes on the second run they did over 300 one way but not the other so the average didn't work out for them. And it's not that hard to outage a chiron. Modified cars that run 230+ in less than a quarter mile would easily wipe the floor with every hypercar while being cheaper than them

If they try to pull a quick one like that on the masses like they are fools and disrespecting everyone as such, one wouldn't be too far off to say there's a lot more cooking behind closed doors. Tuatara is probably my favorite hypercar. I love the Paganis for Heratios artistry, Koenigsegg for Christian's originality in engineering, Bugatti for its luxurious and fast effortless cruising, and the F5 for its rawness and performance, but the small production number, unique looks, and beautiful interior makes the Tuatara my favorite.

Always looked the ssc cars, from the ultimate aero. The Tuatara is easily one the most beautiful designs out there, and it still looks brand new even today after so long.
Hands down best looking hypercar evr . It kinda reminds me of the Vectors , the wx3 concepts, and that only adds to it. Just astonishing design. I mean , it shouldn t be a surprise, after all , its Jason CASTRIOTA, ex Pininfarina , who designed it.
So many companies come and go offering all kinds of things. The fact that SSC has been able to produce and deliver a car capable of these kinds of numbers is astonishing for such a small company. Must be incredibly well run.

Lmao he has to be now after getting caught for making fake claims not just about the speed they achieved but stating that the GPS company, Dewetron verified their data but in reality Dewetron didn't verify anything. SSC would have went away with their fake claims if they weren't called out by Tim and others.
@@Bug4life Regardless of the top speed that everyone wants to focus on, this is still a beautiful car that was built from the ground up which is very difficult to do when you're a small manufacture like SSC. Let's give them credit for something.
Have to admit the car does seem to be very well built and looks like a lot more drivable then the Hennessy Venom and looks way more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. The venom looks awesome but very utilitarian to fault from certain angles.
I thought the same. Tuatara have more space make driving easier and comfy. The way the glass designed also reduce the blind spot. After what happened to them, Shelby is legit smart guy

SSC is a legit major player along with Bugatti, Hennessey, and Koenigsegg. The whole business with the first “record run” is an unfortunate black mark, but the car is UNBELIEVABLE and the company is awesome as well. Jarod is a true petrol head. What a machine. It’s the “holy trinity” issue all over again I need all of them lo (bug, egg, F5, Tuatara)l!!!
I hope this manufacturer comes up even more and makes it's mark in history and we get another brand to add to our dream collections or rather collections we will one day create

Been waiting for an update on the Tuatara. This car is a serious contender for the top speed world record. If I had to put my bets on the Jesko, Venom or this car, I'd bet my money this car will take the record.

The car is more than capable of surpassing 300mph. give the car a 4 mile run way and increase the boost in 6th and 7th gear you'll be there. The F5 and Jesko don't have a good Y-Zero section and weren't designed to be slippery out the gate like the Tuatara is. Keep hating on SSC I love it.

I’m totally enamored with fast looking almost aerospace design of the exterior. This is besides what the car is capable of achieving. Car looks like a gorgeous piece of art no doubt.
Tuatara is probably my favorite hypercar. I love the Paganis for Heratios artistry, Koenigsegg for Christian's originality in engineering, Bugatti for its luxurious and fast effortless cruising, and the F5 for its rawness and performance, but the small production number, unique looks, and beautiful interior makes the Tuatara my favorite.
This is the first time I have ever heard of SSC and I hope that SSC succeeds in the future

Always looked the ssc cars, from the ultimate aero. The Tuatara is easily one the most beautiful designs out there, and it still looks brand new even today after so long.
Hands down best looking hypercar evr . It kinda reminds me of the Vectors , the wx3 concepts, and that only adds to it. Just astonishing design. I mean , it shouldn t be a surprise, after all , its Jason CASTRIOTA, ex Pininfarina , who designed it.
This car is so well built... If I had the money, I would really consider getting this car. It's so special... one of the best in the world.

Lmao he has to be now after getting caught for making fake claims not just about the speed they achieved but stating that the GPS company, Dewetron verified their data but in reality Dewetron didn't verify anything. SSC would have went away with their fake claims if they weren't called out by Tim and others.

Have to admit the car does seem to be very well built and looks like a lot more drivable then the Hennessy Venom and looks way more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. The venom looks awesome but very utilitarian to fault from certain angles.
I thought the same. Tuatara have more space make driving easier and comfy. The way the glass designed also reduce the blind spot. After what happened to them, Shelby is legit smart guy

SSC is a legit major player along with Bugatti, Hennessey, and Koenigsegg. The whole business with the first “record run” is an unfortunate black mark, but the car is UNBELIEVABLE and the company is awesome as well. Jarod is a true petrol head. What a machine. It’s the “holy trinity” issue all over again I need all of them lo (bug, egg, F5, Tuatara)l!!!
I hope this manufacturer comes up even more and makes it's mark in history and we get another brand to add to our dream collections or rather collections we will one day create

Been waiting for an update on the Tuatara. This car is a serious contender for the top speed world record. If I had to put my bets on the Jesko, Venom or this car, I'd bet my money this car will take the record.

295mph run was separate from the 282.9 run.
The car is more than capable of surpassing 300mph. give the car a 4 mile run way and increase the boost in 6th and 7th gear you'll be there.
The F5 and Jesko don't have a good Y-Zero section and weren't designed to be slippery out the gate like the Tuatara is. Keep hating on SSC I love it.
